70 x 70cm Mixed media using acrylics, watercolours, pastels and gold leaf. This colourful piece is based on a photo that I took a few years ago on the West Dorset coast, England. After watching my husband and daughter trying (and ultimately failing) to fish for crabs off a high pier, I turned around and noticed an amazingly satisfying composition for a photo with dark clouds rolling in and deep reflections on the water. Obviously I don’t do photo-realism, but I really enjoyed doing this interpretation as it took me back to that day! This original artwork uses a unique combination of acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels with gold leaf on a 3.5cm deep, gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The sides are painted black, giving this artwork a highly contemporary finish. Framing is not required. The artwork is signed on the front and provided with a certificate of authenticity.
