Description
One of a series of original wood engravings exploring the dynamic atmosphere and distinctive architecture of the London Underground. This piece depicts Holborn station: the viewer teetering precariously on the platform edge as a Piccadilly line train fast approaches. In this series the artist carefully chooses unusual perspectives and angles, whilst keeping these often busy stations in an eerie, near-deserted state. In this way, the artist is encouraging us to take another look: to see the unfamiliar in the ordinary, and to rediscover and better appreciate these incredible subterranean man-made caverns. Note: actual image size 13x18cm; hand-printed on a larger sheet of paper with a minimum of 5cm margin on all sides to allow for mounting and framing.
