Paper size 63cm wide by 58cm high with an image size of 50cm wide by 45cm high. Life can at times filter through into art, not consciously but influencing choices and guiding the process from a distance. Together is an example of this, an abstract reflection of how life with a loved one can make stark demands but through it all there’s a bond of enormous strength and depth. The image is built up slowly using a soft tipped pen on an iPad, choosing brushes, colours, opacity and gradually layering elements till the piece feels complete. It’s then transferred to Photoshop where any extra ink line or texture is scanned in and added, colours are checked to make sure they’re within the printable colour range and then it’s off to a local printers where archival quality inks are used to reproduce the image full size on a heavy, lightly textured paper.
