Description
A small, 8 x 10″ oil on board painting of my village church. I liked this view of bright stone and deep shadows. Sunlight on buildings beautifully describe shape and space as Edward Hopper knew well. Christopher Witchall’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine traditional painting techniques with the realism and cool detachment of photography.
