Description
In this piece, Cahill was inspired by the blankets his grandmother used to make and send out to the homeless. These patchwork quilts were made from the left over wool she and her friends had. The artist appropriated the crude patchwork design his grandmother used with the addition of his own motifs captured on his daily commute on the under ground. This piece is not just a nostalgic nod to his own upbringing but also a reminder to the viewer of the importance of a « woven » and supportive society.
