One of a new series of paintings PauweIs made bringing together her elongated figures with a minuscule cartooncouple ZEF I ZAN Recently Pauwels is introducing this small cartoon couple to give a counterbalance in her otherwise more melancholic and introspective work. The background of her paintings remains the same, many layers of newsprint, sand and acrylics finished with oil glazes, always leaving visible carefully chosen text-layers.
