Self portrait #17 Shot in Hong Kong, this is Cody’s fourth series within the « Self Portrait » collection – an ongoing photography project that Cody has started since 2007 while he’s dancing around the world with Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake to capture his moments in time as inspired by places where his professional dance career has taken him to. « Follow not only the movement, but breathe with the dancers » is Cody’s approach to his dance photography. He believes that a movement doesn’t stop at the point the dancer completes it. It is still there floating around, creating levels of vibrations across the air and enveloping the space with its heat and scent. Photo: Cody Choi
