For the last couple of years Mat has been going to Japan during Sakura season. In most large cities like Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, the cherry blossom season normally takes place around the end of March and the beginning of April.Though the blooms themselves are a thing of such natural beaut, Mat is drawn in by how the People gather and sit under the trees, bringing food, drinks and occasionally music with them. In Japan this symbolic change of season is taken with such pride. Its extremely common to see groups of people of different ages and backgrounds gathering which makes it a great source of interest for a socially driven artist like Mat.
