Description
Third in the series, this hand-made drawing was created in the beautiful Ayrshire, at the 18th Century palladian country home, Dumfries House in Scotland. It forms part of a collection of intricate, personal drawings created by Olivia Peake whilst completing her residency at The Royal School of Drawing during December 2016. Rhodium takes influence from the luxurious aesthetics, decorative furnishings and extravagant beauty that consumes the rooms of the stately home. Through strong structural compositions, opulant pearlescent forms and rococo patterning, the drawing depicts the architectural structures of Robert Weir Schultz’s famous Pewter corridor and the precious materials buried in this Scottish « sleeping beauty ».
