Description
I wanted to elevate the status of the baby deer by placing it on gold leaf (just as religious figures were years ago) as this draws attention to their fragility. The young fawn also acts as a metaphor for a fresh start, as its brand new and pure – at the beginning of its journey of the cycle of life.
