Description
The inspiration for this painting came from walking across the beach at Cromer, on the Norfolk coast. Focusing on just the sea drenched sand and ignoring any contextual imagery, Witchall’s high realism painting of patterns in the sand transform it into an abstract work. Christopher Witchall’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine traditional painting techniques with the realism and cool detachment of photography.
