100 x 100cm Mixed media using gold leaf on box canvas Islands hold a special fascination for children. I spent my childhood summers messing around on boats on my grandfather’s fishponds and the island represented sanctuary. It was mysterious and full of unknown treasures but was always a place of safety. This original composition uses a unique combination of gold leaf, acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels on a 3.5cm deep, gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The sides are painted black, giving this artwork a highly contemporary finish. Framing is not required. The artwork is signed on the front and provided with a certificate of authenticity. Please note that due to its size, I will need an extra 2 days before shipping to arrange the crate.
