Description
« In 2015, shortly after arriving in Spain, I came across some bark under a palm tree. I was immediately captivated by its amazing texture and rich brown colour and carefully stashed it away but couldn’t think of a way to include it in my work at that time. Two years later and my work has evolved to a stage where I finally feel able to begin using it! I regularly include textured base coats on my canvases, but the truly organic nature of the palm bark is a joy to work with! « Lost and Found: Driftwood » takes me back to the beach, stones being pushed and pulled over the sand by the surf, as I walk along the high tide line looking for small treasures that may have travelled from who knows where. I discover a lost memory among the debris. » This original composition uses a unique combination of gold leaf, acrylic and watercolour paints, pastels and palm bark on a 3.5cm deep, gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The sides are painted black, giving this artwork a highly contemporary finish. Framing is not required. Please note that due to its large size it may take an extra 2 days in order to order and construct the crate for shipping.
