50 x 50cm Mixed media on box canvas Summer brings back memories of a childhood spent playing for hours on end beside the ponds in the cool shade of the willows. We used to catch the frogs hiding under the waterlily pads by « fishing » for them with small buttons tied to the end of a string on a stick, just to enjoy watching them dive back into the cool water. I wanted to bring some of my floral techniques into the more abstract waterscapes that I’ve been painting recently. This original artwork uses a unique combination of acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels on a 3.5cm deep, gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The sides are painted black, giving this artwork a highly contemporary finish. Framing is not required. The artwork is signed on the front and provided with a certificate of authenticity.
