The PEAVEY Legacy Series Session LTD 400 Preamp emulates the revered preamp circuit of the original Peavey Session 400 Limited amplifier from 1974, renowned for its pristine, transparent tone that has captivated steel players for decades. Designed in the USA, the Session-LTD 400 brings vintage steel guitar sound to modern pedalboards.
It was developed with input from steel guitar legends like Curly Chalker and Buddy Emmons. Designed to focus on delivering a clear, clean tone allowing the nuances of steel guitar to shine through and setting a new standard for steel guitar amplification. To this day, it is still one of the most coveted steel guitar amps around the world.

Several modern improvements… the miniaturization of the original discrete transistor circuitry allows for greatly improved hum and noise characteristics, as compared to the original Session 400 amplifier, and the construction techniques provide maximum durability and noise immunity in all environments.
The output can be used as an alternate channel or frequency selective boost to drive any amplifier’s input or effects return via a footswitchable hard bypass circuit with click-free operation.
In addition to being a perfect clean preamp for pedal steel and other instruments, it is also useful for overdriving the input of tube amplifiers and the SENSITIVITY control has enough range to drive low sensitivity power amp inputs, directly.

Powered by a standard 9V supply, the pedal internally boosts to 25V, delivering the headroom and dynamic range that defined the original.
