One of a collection of artworks by Rebecca Coleman on the theme of the London Underground. By careful selection of perspectives and viewpoints (and by removing almost all of the people), the artist is able to take an otherwise ordinary Tube scene and transform it into a striking celebration of colour, texture, shape and geometry. In this piece, the artist utilises the symmetry of the tunnel space to great effect, contrasting the fresh, bright and clean platform with the dark, dingy rails and remnants of advertisements. This striking view is from the edge of a dead-straight platform at Kennington station on the Northern line.
