An interwoven series of drawings of this athletic model in motion. The studies build up to create a dynamic whole which expresses a narrative of vigour, strength and poise. The studies are all made from life in a series of shorter poses that the model can hold for only a few minutes. You might just even be able to make out one of him upside down. Each drawing is superimposed over the others. The skill here is in careful placement and consideration for the inte-relationship. Too many ill considered figures and the result is just a jumble. Whereas the effect achieved here shows off Richard’s confidence with composition, line and creation of a whole. The work is then digitally remastered. None of the impulsiveness of the original line work is lost, but a sense of modernity and presence is added. The work is supplied framed in a thin contemporary floating aluminium box frame.
