Description
This large abstract painting is inspired by the British abstract painter Peter Lanyon who painted the Penwith peninsula in West Cornwall where the artist lives, only a stone’s throw from Land’s End. The subtle interplay of blues and greens reference the coastal atmosphere and big skies of this extreme edge of the UK. Built up in several layers, the surface texture has depth and interest, revealing areas of the underlying warm tones of yellow, orange and pinks. It hangs vertically and is a statement artwork that brings power and gravitas. It is framed in a handsome 2 inch moon gold-leaf tray frame.
