Description
Plants and flowers feature heavily in Hume’s imagery although it is the red form in the centre of this image which refers to the geranium of the title – the dark blue flowers are roses. Careful cropping that creates intriguing forms cleverly draws the viewer into the centre of this image. A combination of two print techniques – screenprint and linocut – gives this work additional depth.
