Description
The painting Enduring love is from Gina’s new series The intelligence of Feeling with the title borrowed from Ian McEwan’s book of loss and love. This new series, whilst drawing on scape, is primarily defined by emotion and feeling. She continues to explore the balance of chance and control during the painting process, whilst remembering and considering, love, absence, time, distance, vulnerability, difficulty, loss and the notion of sometimes feeling lost….. the human condition. Gina uses pallet knife, brush and sponge building up layers and washing away in a process that becomes as important to remove as to add, a kind of reverberation of relationship with the canvas of addition and subtraction, push and pull. she intends to create something that is metaphorical, ambiguous, chimerical, organic and elemental. Signed and dated on the side of the canvas the painting is ready to hang. The canvas is deep edged 4.4cm which shows small signs of the working process to the canvas side.
