Description
This work is from my ‘Electricity’ series of paintings where I’m endeavouring to push simple colour combinations to their absolute limit. For example with this painting the yellow green colour and the umber colour. I wanted to make the colours resonate in our eyes as much as possible. To a degree I was working within the same sphere of investigation as the pointillists, like Paul Signac. What I love about this painting is the way the colours change in different lights and at different times of day. In the morning the yellow green looks a bright green and then more yellow in the evening.
