50 x 40cm Mixed media with gold leaf on canvas This painting is the first in my « Drifting » series. I wanted to experiment with the idea of having a rough frame in the painting itself. The frame acts as a window onto an almost dreamlike landscape but the overlap of aspects of the painting into the frame itself draws one into the central composition. This original composition uses a unique combination of gold leaf, acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels on a gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas, giving this artwork a unique, contemporary finish. Framing is not required.
