The luthiery combines a Poplar body, a screwed Maple neck and an Amaranth fingerboard (25.5″ pitch). An acoustic platform that generates a remarkable compromise between thickness and density, punch and clarity. Bass is generous but precise, midrange present but measured, treble musical.
The fingerboard is made of Amaranth or Purpleheart. This is a relatively rare, high-quality species from South American forests. Its high density provides extended note duration, excellent dynamics and clarity. It can be compared to Brazilian rosewood.
The body is made of Poplar, a wood species considered an alternative to Alder. Widely available and inexpensive, Poplar is therefore often used to make entry-level and mid-range instruments.
Equipped with Jackson High-Output Humbucking pickups with ceramic magnets, the Jackson Dinky JS20 DKQ produces saturation that’s frank and furious in the bridge position, rounder and more fluid in the neck position, without ever lacking nuance.
The traditional Jackson 2-Point Fulcrum Tremolo vibrato will enhance your interpretations with subtle pitch modulations.
With a deep cutaway for optimum access to high notes, a modern neck profile and a 12/16″ hybrid radius, the JS20 DKQ is a pleasure to play, a crucial parameter for neophytes in the learning phase.
