De occulta philosophia Recently, I have been thinking about the idea of simplicity, simplicity in its every form, in a world that is constantly transforming and getting progressively more complex while basic human needs have remained the same for centuries. In my work, I was feeling uninspired and tired of trying to achieve perfection while respecting lines and colors in order to represent reality and to ultimately create something beautiful. I felt constrained by my own rules, as if I were in a box, a cell that I created for my own protection. I was scared of leaving these confines both in my art and in my life. My painting was controlled at every moment and I was not able to let go of my fears. Also known as the Fibonacci sequence, the Golden Ratio (de occulta philosophia) is a simple pattern and it appears to be everywhere in nature. This suggests its importance as a fundamental characteristic of the Universe. I wanted to combine this geometrical perfection of nature with my newfound spontaneity to create an image full of poetry that embodies every aspect of who I am and where my life is now. Also depicted in the black background are the unknown, the Cosmos and its infinite possibilities.
