Atsuko is a minimalist, abstract expressionist painting focusing on the emotional impact of the image. The bold and striking structural forms concentrate on qualities such as truth, order, simplicity and harmony. They seek to create a conversation between the artist and the viewer. In Japanese (atsu) meaning « deep, true, sincere » or « honest » combined with (ko) meaning « child ».
