Description
The artist wanted to elevate the status of the Polar Bear by placing them on gold leaf (just as religious figures were years ago) as this draws attention to their plight of diminishing numbers due to global warming. The gold leaf and blue metal leaf does give an impression of reflective water and ice – offsetting against the stark whiteness of the Polar Bear….
