Dutch luthier Erik van de Haar has been building guitars since 1987. By dint of questioning and exacting standards, he has succeeded in establishing the Haar brand, whose reputation for excellence now extends far beyond the borders of his native country. Erik van de Haar and his team produce vintage-style Custom Shop grade instruments that have nothing to envy of American production.
Haar guitars are handcrafted from carefully selected woods and components (bodies and necks are home-made, not Warmoth or Allparts parts, pickups are Kloppmann, Lindy Fralin, Bare Knuckle and others). All instruments undergo Plek Machine procedures for outstanding intonation and playing comfort. 1950s-inspired models typically feature Ash bodies and all-Maple necks, while Sixties-inspired guitars have Alder bodies with Maple necks and Rosewood fretboards.

This HAAR GUITAR Trad S #43592 features an alder body, 3A figured maple neck, Indian rosewood fingerboard, 7.5″ > 9.5″ hybrid radius and single-coil Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot / double-coil Sunbucker pickup configuration.

Lindy Fralin’s most popular model in the Stratocaster© category, the Vintage Hot AlNiCo 5 single-coil pickup produces the most authentically vintage tones from Fender©’s Sixties period. Warm, with present but balanced mids and clear, glossy highs, it will let you get out of the mix, revealing all the subtleties of your playing. The Fralin Sunbucker single-coil pickup is a hybrid, combining 25% humbucking and 75% Alnico single-coil. You’ll get super-generous single-coil tones that are thicker, darker and more powerful than traditional single-coil models. In addition to giving the wood an elegant patina, the torrefaction process improves the instrument’s stability, sustain, clarity and resonance, while protecting it from thermal variations, humidity and mildew.
